First, some good news: you are more likely to conceive a boy anyway!

Although it is usually said that one's chances of conceiving either gender are 50/50, that's not entirely true.

Yes, if all is left in nature's hands you are statistically more likely to give birth to a baby boy.

If that is too much of a chance to take, you'll be pleased to learn there are many methods that could increase your chances of conceiving a boy.

To increase your chances of conceiving a boy, first thing to do is understand the differences between sperm that makes boys vs sperm that makes girls. Using the specifics of boy carrying sperm we can increase the chance of Y chromosome fertilizing the egg.

Those gender selection methods include the Shettles method, that stresses the importance of ovulation, and many scientific gender selection methods.

It's basic science, really: Your baby’s gender is determined by whether your egg is fertilized by a sperm carrying an X (female) or Y (male) chromosome!

If you take a look at things that impact your chance of conceiving a boy, amongst old wives' tales there are some solid facts that stand out.
